...Joe the Plumber?  Yeah, we got him.

FairTax supporters all, it is time to take the FairTax to Washington, D.C. in Operation FairTax!  Organized by volunteers from FairTaxNation, this is the first national conference for supporters of the FairTax – the bill known in the House and Senate as HR 25 and S 296, respectively.  Here's the master plan:

----- April 14th  |  6 pm  |  MEET AND GREET  |  Arlington, VA ------
Arrive at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City Hotel at the Reagan National Airport and join us for an evening "meet and greet" where you will be able to introduce yourself to FairTax supporters from across the nation as well as obtain a briefing for plans to visit your congressman on April 15th.  Book your hotel room now!

----- April 15th  |  9 am  |  STORM THE HILL RALLY  |  Southlawn Capitol, D.C. -----
Be part of one of the biggest public displays yet to create awareness of the FairTax by educating and committed and opposed members of Congress on why our country needs the FairTax and why they must support it.  And what better send off can we give you than speeches from Neil Boortz, Ken Hoagland, and Joe the Plumber!  Be sure to set up an appointment with your congressman a head of time for after the rally!

----- April 16th  |  9 am  |  FIRST FAIRTAX CONFERENCE  |  Arlington, VA -----
Join us back at the Hyatt Regency Hotel to hear national spokespersons for the FairTax and an A+ list of speakers to educate you on the bill and on the future of the legislation.  This includes Representatives Steve King (R/IA) and John Linder (R/GA), primary sponsor for the FairTax!  Get the full schedule here:

Operation FairTax is being organized by a team of volunteers, but costs other than labor do arise (speakers, equipment rentals, etc.).  To help fund these matters we are asking for a $45 registration fee to attend, which you can obtain here:

Don’t forget to send the link to this post to one friend!

Operation FairTax, organized by members of FairTax Nation, is the first national conference for supporters of the FairTax -- everyday citizens who are committed to actively promoting HR 25/S 296 and bringing it from an "It's a great idea but it will never happen" dream to a bill on the President's desk.

Arrive in DC — the Hyatt Regency Crystal City — on Wednesday, April 14th and join us for a "Meet and Greet" and a briefing for plans to "Storm the Hill" on April 15th.

"Storm the Hill" promises to be one of the biggest public displays yet to create awareness of the FairTax, educating uncommitted and opposed members of Congress on why our country needs FairTax and why they must support it.

Friday, April 16th will be a day filled with inspiring speakers and grassroots workshops designed to provide attendees with new and creative tools to spread the word about FairTax far and wide.

Be part of history. Attend the first annual conference of FairTax grassroots supporters.

I checked on rooms at the Hyatt and they wll be $117 + tax for a double room. You must stay a minimum of 3 nights.

Get on THE TRAIN -- The FairTax Train!

If you're interested in forming a group or being part of a group to ride Amtrak to the meeting, email 4672beacon@gmail.com.  This is particularly useful if you have an Amtrak line coming through your area because groups of 20 or more get a discount.

Can't make it to the conference?  Then join the online tax revolt!

http://www.onlinetaxrevolt.com/about/

Here's a message from FairTax national that explains the difference between the 14-16th conference in DC and the online tax revolt.

Quote
Meanwhile, for all of you who may have heard Neal Boortz announce the "Online Tax Revolt March" during his show this past Friday or even during the course of the next few weeks, then you need to be aware of the following facts...

The Online Tax Revolt March (OTRM) is the "brainchild" of Americans For Fair Taxation; and FairTax Nation is fully behind and completely supports this effort
When you hear Neal talk about speaking at a "rally" on the 15th - he is talking about the Storm the Hill rally
When you see or hear any reference to a "tax revolt rally" in Washington, DC on April 15th, then it is most likely a reference to the Storm the Hill rally.

Here's another message from National about the itinerary:

Quote
We are pleased to announce the following additions to the program for the Storm the Hill rally since out last update...

Thursday, April 15th, 2010 - 9:10am - Ken Hoagland, national spokesperson, Americans For Fair Taxation

Thursday, April 15th, 2010 - 9:30am - Neal Boortz, Nationally Syndicated Radio Talk Show host and Co-author of the "FairTax" book

In addition, we are trying to secure former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee to deliver the keynote address at our conference. Please note that Gov. Huckabee is not a firm commitment at this time, but he has been invited.

It's going to be a big conference!  I just made my hotel reservations.  It's a great deal to be able to stay at a Hyatt for under $130/night!  Reserve your room now, and then make a post here so we can coordinate a meeting together with our Congressmen.  We'll get this thing passed yet!

The discounted room rates are closed.  If you stay at the Hyatt, you'll have to do so at their regular rates.
